Come outside and enjoy our newly renovated park! Kids can climb, swing and slide on the vibrant playground and it is the perfect place to make new memories with your family!
The park is open all year round from 8 a.m. till Dusk, barring any weather complications.
Lakefront Park Outdoor Ice-Skating Rink!
Lakefront Park is officially opening a public ice-skating rink for the winter season! The ice-skating rink will be open when a green flag is present and closed when a red flag is present on the Amphitheater.
Public Skate:
Daily 10 a.m. to Dusk | Hockey/sticks and pucks are prohibited on the Ice
Hockey/Stick and Puck:
Daily Dusk to 10 p.m. | No figure skating unless hockey is not present

Splash Pad
The Lakefront Park Splash Pad is officially closed for the season!
The Village of Fox Lake thanks everyone who came out during the summer season to enjoy our splash pad and beach! We made some amazing memories this year and hope to see you back next summer.
Lakefront Park is an unsupervised park, playground, splashpad and beach. Parent and guardians are responsible for the supervision and conduct of their minor children at all times.
Outdoor Pickleball Courts
Our Pickleball Courts are officially closed for the season! We hope to see you next year.
When they are set up for the season the Outdoor Pickleball Courts will be open from 8 a.m. - Dusk, barring any weather complications.
The Lakefront Park Public Ice Skating Rink!
Experience winter at its best at the Fox Lake Outdoor Public Ice Skating Runk! Whether you're gliding for fun or practicing your moves, or meeting friends at the park, the rink offers a seasonal escape right in the heart of Lakefront Park. Grab your skates, enjoy the fresh air, and make the most of the chilly weather on the ice!
Public Skate Information:
Daily from 10 AM to Dusk | Hockey Sticks are prohibited on the ice

To provide a fun and safe playground, please observe the following regulations:
- Playground hours are from 8 am to dusk
- This is an unsupervised playground. Parents and guardians are responsible for the supervision and conduct of their children at all times.
- Please notify the Parks and Recreation Department of any broken equipment that could be potential hazards or could create unsafe conditions.
- No bikes are allowed in the playground area.
- Please keep pets to the paved sidewalks, pets are not allowed on the cushioned playground area. Keep pets leashed and clean up aft your pets.
- Alcohol is prohibited unless sold during a Village-sanctioned event through a licensed vendor.
- Motorized vehicles are prohibited in the park, including all walking paths.

2025 Lakefront Park Ice Rink
The Village of Fox Lake is happy to offer an outdoor ice rink at Lakefront Park this season. Outdoor ice has imperfections not normally encountered on indoor rinks. Like all sports & recreational activities, ice skating can be dangerous. Please share the ice and be courteous to other skaters and visitors.
For emergencies call 911 or for non-emergency help please call (847) 587 – 3100. Contact the Parks & Recreation Department at (224) 225 -1404 with any questions or to report hazardous conditions.
ICE RINK OPEN/CLOSED STATUS & HOURS
- The Ice rink is OPEN when a green flag is present.
- The Ice rink is CLOSED when a red flag is present.
- Trespassing on the ice when the rink is closed will be grounds for permanent revocation of skating privileges.
- Public Skate - 8am to dusk seven days a week.
- Hockey Skate - Dusk to 10pm seven days a week.
SKATE RENTAL IS NOT AVAILABLE
ICE RINK RULES
- Skate at your own risk.
- The Lakefront Park Ice Rink is unsupervised.
- Children at the Ice Rink:
- Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children,
- Children twelve (12) and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and
- Children ages three (3) and under are not allowed on the ice
- No glass, food, drink, alcohol, drugs, smoking, or pets on ice surface.
- Hockey sticks and pucks are not permitted during public skate.
- No chipping, throwing or spraying ice.
- Do not sit on, hang over or leave articles on the sideboards.
- All prohibited conduct in Village parks under Ordinance 8-2-2 applies to the ice rink located at Lakefront Park.
- The Village of Fox Lake is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.
- Organized events are not allowed unless scheduled in conjunction with the Village of Fox Lake and appropriate agreements and arrangements are in place
Hockey Skate Rules:
- Users are strongly encouraged to wear helmets and other protective gear.
- Be aware of those around you when handling pucks.
- Fighting will result in expulsion from the rink.
Violation of these rules may result in permanent revocation of skating privileges
- All children must have adult supervision at all times
- Hours of the splash pad are 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
- The following are prohibited in the splash pad area:
- Climbing, sitting, and playing on splash pad apparatus
- Drinking splash pad water, spitting of water from the mouth
- Running, rough play, and profanity
- No smoking, vaping, or alcohol
- Inflatable pool toys, athletic and other recreational equipment
- Food, candy, gum, beverages, and glass containers
- Soap, detergents, shampoos, or changing diapers
- No radios and other acoustical devices
- No skateboards, skates, Razor, rollerblades. scooters, bicycles or similar recreational equipment
- No pets
- At first sign of thunder or lightning, vacate the splash pad & seek a fully enclosed shelter
- Proper swim attire is required. Cutoffs are not permitted.
Any patron not complying with these rules may be asked to leave the facility.
Lakefront Park Beach is closed for the season, but we'll be back in action Memorial Day weekend in May 2026! Here are some basic rules and regulations for the beach when it opens.
- This is an unsupervised beach, and parents/guardians are responsible for the supervision and conduct of their minor children at all times.
- People less than 16 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible person 16 years of age or older.
- No swimming during inclement weather when lightning is present.
- No pets, glass, alcohol, smoking, and enclosed structures.
- Water at Lakefront Park Beach is tested every two weeks by the Lake County Health Department for bacteria. After testing, the beach may be closed to the public if bacteria levels exceed status limits.
- Notice of beach closures will be posted on the Village of Fox Lake website and the Village of Fox Lake Parks & Recreation Facebook page using a flag system.
Pet Policy
Pets are welcome in our parks with leashes on marked paths. For safety reasons, pets are not welcome in some areas. Pets are not allowed on beaches or playgrounds. Pet owners are required to remove all pet droppings. Only service animals are allowed in Village owned buildings. Ordinance 8-2-2.
Photo/Privacy Policy
The Fox Lake Parks & Recreation Department uses photographs of participants at special events and programs to help inform others about recreational activities in our community. We do not use identification on any platform without prior consent. If you do not wish to have your picture taken, please inform the photographer. All personal information given to us through registration is kept confidential. At no time will the Village of Fox Lake give, sell, or release personal information without prior consent.
Prohibited Conduct in Village Parks
For the general health and safety of residents and visitors, the Village of Fox Lake prohibits the following activities in village parks:
- Fires including charcoal grills but propane grills are allowed,
- Permanent structures or temporary structures closed on three or more sides,
- Watercraft launching,
- Trailer parking,
- Motorized vehicles including snowmobiles and ATVs on park property,
- Stone throwing, hitting golf balls or any other projectile firing into the water,
- Stapling, nailing or fastening signs on park buildings, trees or benches,
- Discharge of chemical pollutants into the water,
- Vandalism and gambling, and
- Smoking and alcohol. Ordinance 8-2-2.
Safety/Waiver/Insurance Policy
The Village of Fox Lake strives to make the parks and recreation experience the safest possible. For liability purposes, the Parks & Recreation Department requires adults to sign a waiver on behalf of themselves or minors before participation can begin. The Village of Fox Lake provides NO insurance for any injury or damage that may occur. We strongly recommend that you check with your insurance carrier.
Behavior Policy
To create safe and enjoyable programs, activities, and facilities for all residents and visitors, the Village of Fox Lake has developed the following Code of Conduct. Participants are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior at all times when involved with parks and recreation programs, activities, events, and while using village facilities and parks.
- Show respect to all participants and staff.
- Refrain from using foul or obscene language, gestures, and behavior.
- Refrain from any illegal touching to other participants and staff.
- Refrain from communicating threats, inappropriate comments, or actions that can be considered as any type of harassment, direct threat, or actions that pose a threat by gesture, words, or actions.
- Exhibit tolerance and commonly accepted behavior toward our diverse community.
- Show respect to facilities, equipment, and supplies.
- Exhibit good sportsmanship during events and programs whether a participant or an observer.
- Alcohol is prohibited in village parks unless permitted by the village for special events or programs. It is expected that all residents and participants will exhibit good judgement and moderation when alcohol is consumed.
The Village of Fox Lake reserves the right to dismiss without refund any participant who violates the behavior policy and ban them from future activities. In addition, if it is felt that such actions pose a threat to the general safety or welfare of staff or other participants, an individual or group may risk consequences associated with contacting the Fox Lake Police Department.
