Each spring, typically from late March to mid-April, American White Pelicans migrate northward, passing through Fox Lake. The Village of Fox Lake celebrates this event with “Pelican Palooza,” a fun-filled two weeks highlighting the migration and local businesses. In 2026, this event runs from April 1- 17, and it includes a photo contest, kids crafts at the Fox Lake Public Library, a photo exhibit of past pelican photo entries, and a scavenger hunt with the opportunity to enter a raffle to win fun prizes!
