Public Works 

The Fox Lake Public Works Department is dedicated to maintaining and improving the Village’s infrastructure, public spaces, and essential services. Our team operates across three divisions—Streets, Water & Sewer, and Motor Pool—to ensure safety, reliability, and quality of life for residents and businesses.

Streets Division

  • Maintenance of streets, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and public rights-of-way
  • Snow and ice removal operations
  • Street sweeping and pavement marking
  • Maintenance of street signs, lights, and public parking lots
  • Seasonal brush collection and leaf pickup schedules
  • Drainage ditch and stormwater system upkeep
  • Support for Village events and facilities

Water & Sewer Division

  • Management of over 40 miles of water and sanitary sewer mains
  • Operation of 26 lift stations and 5 wells
  • Water meter installation and maintenance
  • Fire hydrant servicing
  • Water quality monitoring and reporting
  • Sewer backup response protocols

Motor Pool Division

  • Maintenance of the Village’s fleet of vehicles and equipment
  • Repairs, inspections, and fuel management
  • Preventative maintenance schedules
  • Vehicle lifecycle tracking and replacement planning

Environmental & Community Programs

  • Tree planting and forestry programs
  • Wetland restoration and stormwater quality initiatives
  • Solid waste and composting programs
